A significant focus for facility management is to make sure an existing facility runs smoothly and safe for its intended purpose. Facility management entails every aspect of making sure a building is operating efficiently in terms of safety, revenue production, tenant satisfaction, and preventive maintenance.  Every sporting event must be planed and organised, using an integrated approach towards service, safety, and security. The aims of this approach are:

  • Venue safety - making sure the building and installations are maintained in a proper condition
  • Venue security - preventing unauthorised persons from gaining access to the venue, whether on event days or otherwise during the week
  • Crowd management - making sure that spectators and participants can get into the venue safely, can watch the event safely and can leave safely when the event is finished
  • Safety of self and others - ensuring that everybody looks after themselves and looks out for other people

GKY provides training courses to individuals, in order for them to understand the basic principles of safety management in sports events, in accordance with the existing legislation. The training course includes a structured explanation of safety and security and analyzes the duties and responsibilities of each involved party. The aim of this course is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to be able to maintain a safe environment during sports events. The main modules of the curriculum, are:
